Are You Dating a Dangerous Individual?

Either getting back into the dating world or having been in it for a while now can lead to both joy and heartache.

That said you always want to be sure your safety is the top priority.

With this in mind, are you dating a dangerous individual? If the answer is yes, why is that? If you are not sure, are you going to take any steps to figure out the answer?

Do Some Homework on a Dating Partner

Without taking up too much time or being obsessive, it is important that you know who you are with.

One way to go about this is by turning to the Internet.

Once online, you can move forward with an arrest record search.

Such a search helps you to find if one you have an interest with and even into a relationship with could be a threat.

That said what would you consider a threat?

For one, someone with a history of run-ins with law enforcement may well be an individual you want to move on from. Remember, if they have a track record of crimes; is there any reason to believe they will stop doing so?

Second, you do not want to get caught up in any criminal life they have. It only takes one instance where you do and your life can take a turn for the worse.

If you find during your search a criminal background, will you ask the individual about it?

If you do, it is wise to approach them with some care. Do not come out and abruptly accuse them of being a lifelong criminal or a bad person.

Your best bet is to hear their side of the story and then make up your own mind on how to proceed or to move along.

Sings to Look for

If you sense someone you are dating could be trouble, here are a few signs to look for.

They include:

  • Not opening up – If you question them about a criminal past and they do not want to open up, why is this? Yes, some may be embarrassed and want to leave their past in the past. That said you do deserve some answers if you are going to move forward with this person in your life.
  • Hiding things from you – Hiding certain things from you can also be a red flag. An example here is not telling you about one or more periods in their life. They may also try and shield you from some relatives or friends that know the truth.
  • Trouble holding down a job – Someone who has had some run-ins with the law could have trouble holding down a job. As such, look to see if this appears to be the case. If it is, you may worry about their financial stability for one.
  • Gets angry easily – Last, does the person seem to get angry rather easily? If so, this is another red flag you do not want to miss.

If you are suspicious of the person you are dating, is it time to move ahead and find someone else?
